How to Achieve the Seemingly Impossible
I created the Liquid Mind to help me achieve a seemingly impossible goal.
Going back several years, a CEO challenged me to grow the company I was working for from $18MM to $100MM in revenue in eighteen months. My first reaction was a smooth, four letter expletive. But then I thought about it. I could pull this off. I have talent, I am well trained, I am aggressive, I can make this happen. I knew to achieve such an aggressive goal I would need to think differently than everyone else, I had to see opportunities others were missing.

I created the Liquid Mind to help me achieve a seemingly impossible goal.
Going back several years, a CEO challenged me to grow the company I was working for from $18MM to $100MM in revenue in eighteen months. My first reaction was a smooth, four letter expletive. But then I thought about it. I could pull this off. I have talent, I am well trained, I am aggressive, I can make this happen. I knew to achieve such an aggressive goal I would need to think differently than everyone else, I had to see opportunities others were missing.
So I set out to develop a formal process, a “mental framework,” a formal process for generating big, creative breakthrough ideas. To grow by $82MM I knew I would need to have big ideas, creative ideas, new approaches to digital strategy.
My background had prepared me for this. I had worked for 15 years as the VP of Digital Marketing for several DTC brands that all wanted fast growth. I worked with brands of all sizes from $20MM to over $1B.
To add to this monumental goal the company was self funded so the growth had to be profitable, or at least break even. <%$*! again. But I took on the challenge, I honed my techniques to open up creatively and trained myself to “see” things others miss. I had a mental framework for innovation in all areas of growth marketing, regardless if I was working on small, medium or large tasks. I had a process for spinning something unique. I had several large breakthrough ideas that took the company from spending $2K a day on YouTube to $70,000 a day. Now that was a great day!
According to Google we were one of the Top 10 DTC on YouTube globally.
The strategies I developed came from Liquid Thinking, the formal process for thinking differently and generating big, creative breakthrough ideas. I did achieve the goal with a $120MM run rate but it took me about twenty months to get there.
I celebrate the win for the brand and then celebrated again for creative thinking techniques I developed.
I started teaching these techniques to friends and they were getting the same outsized returns. I have witnessed some incredible results from students including:
- One student went from $0 to $50K in new contracts in his first month in business.
- Another generated $100MM in revenue in his first year in business.
According to Google we were one of the Top 10 DTC on YouTube globally.
